I don't think they've said it wasn't supernatural (could be wrong), I just know that they've said that the passengers definitely didn't die, so it's not a pergatory scenario.
But as far as the drug runners, maybe you are right - that plane was big enough for more than two people. Maybe other drug runners are still alive. But also, it served as the death vehicle (most likely) for Boone, so it has multiple purposes in the story. I was blown away by the fact that really, in the end, what caused Boone to crash into the ground, was his need to get off the island more than to be safe. Which further adds to my thoughts about how the island prefers people who want to stay non the island. Boone wanted off, the island has seriously hurt and probably killed him. Walt and Locke don't want off at all, and they appear to be the ones who are most tapped into whatever is going on. You're right though, this show is crack.

And I think you're right that the Hobbit will eventually find the heroin, but there must be more to it than that. That's a heckuva of a contrivance just so one character can rekindle a drug addiction. Did I say how much I love this show? I am thinking about it way too much.

Well, my take on the drug runnes is a long term vision thing. Because, you'll note, the producers just reintroduced heroin to the island. I think that sometime in a later season, Charlie is going to find the heroin and maybe start using again. But it's a good ways off. Locke's obviously the only one besides Walt who has any idea what's going on - and even he's not really sure what is actually happening. But he understands that you kinda have to do what the Island wants you to do. I think he's keeping his secrets because he thinks/intuits that letting everyone know about the finds would make the island angry in someway. Beyond that, I got nuttin'.

I am so in love with this show. Even a screaming baby with a nasty head cold could not keep me from wondering--what made that shit light up from the inside? Why is Locke keeping the plane a secret? What the hell do Nigerian drug runners have to do with all this? I am tingly with anticipation of the next 5 episodes.
