wowgirl - Internet Sneak Preview
Well, if that title doesn't explain it, I can't help you. It's been 4 years since we shot wowgirl, and other than a few members of the cast & crew, no one has seen it all the way through. This is because I'm a slacker. However, for the cast, crew, and the few people who read this blog, welcome to the show.
In about 3 weeks, the entire rough cut of wowgirl will be available to view online.
Got your attention? Here's the deal: I will make a media file of some sort (to be determined) that includes the entire rough cut of wowgirl available for a period of approx 6-8 hours. It will be password protected, and you will have to get the password from me via email (since this is not for public consumption yet). There will be missing music, bad sound and dialogue flubs in certain spots, etc. But more or less, the whole film will be watchable. For those that have seen the first rough cut, this cut will include the re-shot opening scene at the picnic table, the re-shot Neil/Kate sequence, some minor editing changes, and more music.
The bandwidth will not be a problem on my end. You will need broadband, of course, to see it. The size should be pretty decent, I may even offer multiple sizes for varying bandwidth rates.
A few details need to be sorted out, and you can help. What format do you want it in? The options are Windows Media, Real, and Quicktime - does anyone have a preference (or more importantly, a format they can't handle)? Also, the day and time. My initial thought is April 9th, maybe 4pm to midnight. That's a Saturday, but it's certainly not set in stone. Any problems, or other preferred times?
I don't know, I'm pretty excited by the idea. You?

Top of the Week Roundup with Lost and...Basketball?
I've got maybe three or four quick things to mention, some of which pertain to my regular readers, so I'm just going to toss these bad boys out and you can pick and choose. First off, I'm changing hosting companies later today, so STG might be down or sporadic in its availability for the next few days.
I have not one, but two mildly interesting things about basketball to mention. Which might very well be the first interesting things about Basketball ever to exist. (I kid. Surely there's been something before.) First off, Raul may have had trouble with his tournament picks, but his hatred of Kansas paid off. I happened to be in a bar on friday night when this game ended in a one-point victory upset for Bucknell, and you wouldn't believe the cries of disbelief (including one of the most foul-mouthed, funniest angry drunk outburts I've ever heard in public). But somewhere, Raul was cheering.
Also, did anyone hear about how James LaBron scored 56 points in a single game yesterday and the Cavaliers still lost? They must have signed me mid-season and I didn't notice.
At The Greatness' graduation party, I mentioned that Lost was going away until mid-April. Obviously, a dastardly ABC executive must have been at the party and listening, because not three days later, ABC up and moved up the return date. A new lost epsiode will appear next week, March 30. I was correct though, originally it was scheduled for later and they moved it up. Anyway, please don't miss this episode because I said it would be a rerun, thereby causing you to come after me with sharp, pointy objects.
And finally, I have a big surprise for all regular readers of my blog (plus maybe a couple of non-regulars) that I will talk about later today. Come back around, mid-afternoon (3:00pm-ish). You'll dig it, I promise.
