02/15/2005: "How did I miss this?"

Raul has a new child. The Greatness has a new fiance. I have a new wife.

Apparently, it has been out for a couple of months. Unfortunately, I just discovered this today. Which means none of us will be seeing our loved ones for any amount of time in the near future. Sorry, guys. But hey, do you think we can network it?

Kickin' Bird: Motherfucker....

Juls: Really, upgradable video and sound cards in laptops? Okay, Alienware gets mad props for that. Coolness. I wonder what it costs to do that - still, great idea.

Well, the reason I want an Alienware is because I need a laptop for gaming. I travel for work sometimes up to 3 weeks at a time, so I need a gaming machine that is portable. At least you can upgrade the video and sound cards on the Alienware laptops.

Still having trouble getting machines up and running, huh? I remember a time about a decade ago when a barely post-pubescent "Vampire Elf" had his 386 strewn allll over the living room floor...Processor, mobo, power supply, memory. People came in and out of that place, jimmying with each piece, playing catch with them. And "Elf" wondered why the hell it never worked after that...

Yeah, I figured out later there was no multiplayer. Boy that sucks - it would be absolutely awesome to be attacking each other in fights over the 'net. Too bad. Maybe an expansion pack or something.

Alienware is cool, Juls, but just make sure you know that you are paying a good bit of extra money for the bitchin' case. You can get the same hardware for a lot less. Of course, I say that knowing full well that The Greatness and I both have dual athlon machines and we both had a nightmare trying to get them to work when we first got them. So maybe paying someone to deal with the nightmare is worth it. I need more RAM. Uh, sorry, that last comment was more a mental note to me. hmmm.

Hmm. . . never played the original, but this one looks fun. Unfortunately we are a household of laptops, and until I get my Alienware, I can't play PC games very well. XBox Live!!!

Great to see that the old classic has been spruced up for a new age. I am somewhat disappointed to learn that they took out sun sighting. Apparently we just sail around on an annotated map (maybe we can turn the titles off?).

Doesn't look like there's multiplayer. I'm not sure what that would look like anyway. Tag-team city burnings? Steal each other's "governor's daughter"s?

Man, my wife just pulled out her "mmm-hmmm" tone when I told her about this. I guess I won't be getting it for my birthday. Heh.

Man, between Pirates, Battlestar Galactica and 24, there is no time left in the week for my family!
