Those Wacky Supreme Court Justices...

If this doesn't blow your mind, you don't have one. Here's the latest fallout from the Kelo vs. New London decision.

PURE, UNADLUTERATED EVIL

I just hope some politician or some judge can put down the pipe and get off the hooker's lap for five seconds to FIX THIS.

UPDATED: You know, after further reflection, I can honestly say that this is one of the very few times in my entire life where I've thought that a Constitutional Ammendement is in order. The only way to stop the inevitable slide here is to spell it out in the Constitution in big block letters for the slow kids (read: Supreme Court Justices).

Found it at Fark.

Blog Spree #3: Reading List

A while back, my friend Julie posted an entry on her blog about her current reading list. It's funny how memory works - for the life of me, I can't remember the name of the bookstore she used to work at back in high school, but I could drive there right now without missing a turn. I remember we'd go see her at work and hang out in the scifi section. I'm fairly positive I discovered Asimov there.

So here's my current and recent reading list. Mostly I'm the bitch of a guy named Dan Simmons right now.

Blog Spree #2: Serene Evangelism

Today is August 14th. Roughly a month and a half from September 30. September 30 is The Greatness' birthday. It's also the release date of Joss Whedon's feature film debut, Serenity. The trailer can be found at the movie's web site, serenitymovie.com.

For those of you who don't know (and shame on you...just shame), Joss Whedon is the writer/director/genius behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spinoff, Angel. He wrote or script-doctored movies like Speed and Toy Story. His next film will be the big budget adaptation of Wonder Woman.

At the height of his Buffy reign, Whedon used his pull to create his own version of an sci-fi ship show, with a western twist, which he called Firefly.

Blog Spree #1: Nanowrimo.org

Speaking of longer works, I'm going to kick off the blogging spree by introducing you to Nanowrimo.org. Nanowrimo stands for National Novel Writing Month. It's basically a personal challenge to write a 50,000 word piece of fiction (basically a short novel) in 30 days. You start on November 1st and you have to be finished with the work on November 30th. It's a pace of about 1500 words a day.

Here's the longer version of what it's all about.

Entry Madness!

All the kids are doing entries these days, we've got to stop them. Entries are gateway writing, pretty soon they'll be into articles, short stories... they could even consider writing longer works! We must put an end to this epidemic. I suggest a government funded war on entries. It will cost billions of dollars a year and be completely unsuccessful.

Ahem.

What I meant to say it that I'm about to go on a two or three day blogging spree, wherein I am going to get some things I've been meaning to blog about off my mind, lay out my creative game plan for the next few months, and talk up some things I want to do and that I think some of my eight readers might want to be involved in. So that's coming up, keep an eye out.
