09/23/2004: "Good for Something"

In three weeks and one day, I'll be on a beach somewhere in Hawaii, getting married. And just have to pause for a minute and say "How cool is that?" Okay, dorky marriage moment over.

Now, I've been pretty busy and will be even more in the next few weeks, but I'm going to try and get some more stuff up here. Today, I am providing some evidence that I am capable of doing things that do not involve a computer or a video camera. No, seriously.

This is a table I built for Wood Nymph's birthday. It is made from solid maple. I purchased a leg kit from tablelegs.com and picked up the wood for the table top from a local hardware place called Armstrong's. Hint: Lowe's and Home Depot don't carry maple. The middle section is made of ceramic tile. I was planning to use stone, but it was cost prohibitive. I routed the edges of the table and stained it with Minwax's Colonial Maple color. My first foray into woodworking and now I'm hooked. For Christmas, I want a 10" sliding compound mitre saw. Just saying.
