09/01/2004: "He Will Save Rock." music: Loud, Glorious Guitars
I made Butch Walker laugh. Apparently. I wasn't actually there.
It's a long story, but to make it short, I couldn't be there when he was signing stuff, but my friend Todd could, and he got my very awesome, very limited edition "hey! album" indie CD signed for me. I had him sign my CD "Chris - I will save rock. Butch." According to Todd, he laughed at that.
After all the emotions that his music has made me feel, it's nice to know that I could give a moment back.
Oh, and he will. Save Rock, that is. If anyone can do it, Butch Walker was born to. This is the guy whose band released an arena rock album in the year 2000.
The new album, Letters is amazing. Listen to "Mixtape" at the website. Just plain, unhampered, melodic rock. No irony, no cynicism. Just good.
"You were cool as hell like email, but still timeless like a letter." - BW, "You're So Yesterday"
