Not that kind of Spam collection

A while back, I switched from greymatter to wordpress as my blog software of choice. I did this for a few reaons, but one of the big ones was my need to have more control over the comment spam.  Wordpress enabled me to be able to do this fairly successfully on the public face of smelltheglory.com, but on the backend, I’ve started getting even more and more spam alert emails. I was up to almost 30 a day this week. I had been ignoring the blog while dealing with a massive amount of work, both professionally and personally, but I found some time this week to download and install a very nice spam catching program, Spam Karma. This is a great little plugin for wordpress, and since I installed it, I have not received a single annoying spam notification email. Highly recommended for you wordpress people who don’t want to sign up for an API key to use Akismet.

Grey’s Nanobots

I’ve been preaching this stuff for years. It’s nice to see some real-world progress.

Behold, the amazing surgical microbot!
